Exchange Bank of Culver and Argos and the Farmers State Bank of LaPaz held their annual
stockholders' meeting in the auditorium of the bank at Culver on 11 Jan. 15....At the conclusion
of the annual report made to the stockhollers, all of the old directors except Oliver T. Goss.
ware elected. Due to the fact that Mr. Goss has not been able to attend any meetings for more than
a year, George E. Eley, a successful business man of Argos, was unanmously elected to succeed Oliver

George E. Eley
George E. ELEY, 61, Argos, died at 11:59 p.m. Sunday following a nine-month illness.
He was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Lucerne to Claude and Edith DECK ELEY.
His marriage was April 15, 1933 to Hazel KEFFABER.
He was a lifetime resident of the Argos area and a former member of the board of
trustees of the Parkview hospital in Plymouth. He also was a former member of the Argos
town board, Argos school board and a Walnut township trustee.
He was a former partner in the E. E. [Eley] sawmill at Argos.
Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Elinore) HUTTON, Dallas, Texas;
two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. C. J. (Ruth) BLOOM of Crestwood, Ill

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Grossman funeral home in Argos

Burial will be in the Argos Maple Grove cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
