Dr. John C. Glackman
Dr. John C. GLACKMAN, Rochester's newest doctor, was notified yesterday afternoon that his
son, Michael [GLACKMAN], 12, was killed in Denver, Colorado, when the scooter on which he
and another youth were riding was struck by a truck.
Dr. Glackman and his daughter, Jacqueline, left shortly afterwards for Chicago where they
caught a plane for Denver. The body may be returned here for burial.
Michael, Mrs. GLACKMAN, and another daughter, Sarah [GLACKMAN], were remaining in Denver until
family property could be sold. Following the settlement, they were to move into the former home
of James ZIMMERMAN, which Dr. Glackman recently purchased.
Physician and surgeon, Dr. Glackman began practice at 716 1/2 Main street the first of this month.
He and Jacqueline were living in the apartment in the rear of the office temporarily. - Rochester

Funeral services for Michael GLACKMAN, 12, son of Dr. John C. GLACKMAN, who started practice here
March 1, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Horan funeral home in Denver, Colo. Burial will
also be in Denver.

Honored For 50 Years Of Medical Practice Today

Dr. John C. Glackman of Rochester and 772 West Shore Drive, Culver is among the 35 Hoosier
physicians and surgeons be honored for 50 years of practice in medicine today at the 105th
annual meeting of the Indiana State Medical Association in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Glackman is accompanying her distinguished husband to the state capital for the
commemorative program and reception but her popular gift shop, The House of Treasures, on
Lake Maxinkuckee along State Road 17 will be open during her absence.
After two years of service in World War I, Dr. Glackman was on the Indiana State Board of
Health for seven years, two years of which he served as president. He resigned in 1941 when
he was recalled to service as a Lieutenant Colonel at Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver,
Colo.
Later Dr. Glackman was in command of the Japanese Internee Hospital at Camp Livingston,
Alexandria, La. - October 27, 1954 -
