Harvey, Ralph H. Of Bentley Village, Naples, Florida, died on October 10, 2013.
He was born October 6, 1911 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 67 years, Louise (Howe) Harvey,
also a son, William Harvey and a brother, Raymond Harvey.
He graduated from high school in Danville, IL.
He served 2 years in the Philippines as a technical Sergeant in General MacArthur’s headquarters.
He built a regional chain of variety stores called Harvey’s Dime Stores and Harvey Mart.
Ralph and his wife, along with his nephew, George Cox had seventeen stores in Northwest Indiana.
Ralph was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Naples.
He formerly served as President of the Chicago District of the Church of the Nazarene. He had served
on the Bishops Advisory Council for Northern Indiana’s First United Methodist Church. He also served
on the Board of Directors of the University of Indianapolis, where he received an Honorary Degree for
his work in providing scholarships for needy students. He served as the chairman of the building
committee for the United Methodist Church of Valparaiso, during an expansion project.

Ralph H. Harvey, of Bentley Village, Naples, Florida, died on October 10, 2013.
He was born October 6, 1911 in Jonesboro, AR.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Louise (Howe) Harvey; a son, William Harvey; and
a brother, Raymond Harvey.
Ralph graduated from high school in Danville, IL.

Louise M. Harvey Florida / Valparaiso Louise M. Harvey, age 89, of Bentley Village, Naples, FL died
March 31, 2002.
She was born Feb. 4. 1913, in Mansfield, IL, to Robert and Edith Howe.
Louise was a member of Chapter B.O. of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Valparaiso, IN, also Past Chaplain of
Naples P.E.O. She was a member of the 1st Methodist Church in Naples, where she was active in United
Methodist Womens Work.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ralph H. Harvey, nephew: George (Sandra) Cox of Valparaiso,
IN and 100 other nieces, nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her 20 year old son, William Harvey, who died in 1960, three brothers and
two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Naples, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105,
or Hospice of Valparaiso, IN.
There will be a private Memorial Service in Valparaiso, IN, at a later date.

William Harvey summer resident killed In Crash
William Harvey, 20 the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harvey, 357 Northview, Valparais
and 784 west Shore drive, Culver, died of brain injuries at 5;30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1
in Laramie county Hospital in Colorado where he was admitted after his sport convetible
careened off the road and overturned in a ditch about 11;30 p.m. the evening before. the
acident occurred near Fort Colline, Colo.
Born in Chiago Jul 6, 1940 and a 1958 graduate of Valparaiso High school. Harvey was a
yunior business asdministration at Coloradeo Sate University and was president of Theta
Chi fraternity there durin his sophomore year.
Edward Tuttle, 18, West Richfield, Ohio, and Richard Iskawa, 20, Englewood, Calif, who were
with Harvey at the time of the accident, escaped serious injury when thrown free of the
vechile while Harvey was pinned underneath.
Well known in this community. william and his parents have been summer Lake residents at the
West Shore address since 1959
Surviving wilth his parents are the maternal grandmother, a grandfather, and an uncle.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3 at the First Methodist Church in Valparaiso wth
burial in Graceland Cemetery.
