William R. Krafft  

William R. Krafft graduated from Mechanics Institute In New York City and joined Michigan Bell Telephone Company.

He later became affiliated with the General Motors Corporation as Oldsmobile distributor for half of the state of Conneticut, then General Manager of New Haven Buick until coming to Indianapolis where he became president and owner of the Monarch Buick Company.

His was Chairman (1978) of the Board of Ryan Auto Parts, Monarch Motor Company, Inc., and the Indianapolis Automotive Warehouse, Inc.

His civic activities include the Salvation Army Advisory Board, past presideint of the Downtown Kiwanis Club, and a director of the Better Business Bureay, Conovention Bureau, and Sales Executive Club of Indianapolis. He is a founder of Junior Baseball, the "500" Festival Associates, Junior Achievement, and the Indianapolis Zoo.

He is also a member of the Committees of One Hundred in Miami and Indianapolis, the Indiana Society of Chicago, and the Advisory Council of Indiana Central University. Mary Helen Krafft was owner and operator of The Keys in Indianapolis formany years.

In 1977 they gave their lake cottage to Indiana Central University.

Krafttt's Chester White Swine WIn Top Honors

Chester White hogs entered at the Indiana State Fair this year from the Krafft Acres Farm, Route 4 Rochaster, won the Junior Gran Campion and the Reserved Grand Champion.

The farm is owned by Mr. and Mrs. William R. Kraftt if Indianapolis and South SHore Drive, Culver.

Jack Croy is the farm manager.

Seventeen additional ribbons were wond by Kraffy entries.

Peter A Rudwolis of "The Keys" Restaurant is Culver Visitor

Peter A (Rudy) Rudwolis, manage of the famous Keys Restaurant at Indianapolus, perennial winner of Holiday Magazine's only Indiana award for "Dining Distinction", was a CUlver vistor on Monday

Mr. and Mrs. William R. Kraftt, Lake Maxinkuckee summer residents, own the noted establishment on North Meridian Street in the Hoosier coital.

From their big farm here they supply "The Keys" with 2,000 Rock Corhish hens annually as well as eggs and fresh vegetables.

Mr. Rudwolis was here to order several thousanf reprints of a feature story on "The Keys" which appeared in the April issue of Indiana Business and Industry Magazine. - 10 Jun 1959 - Citizen

Three Lake Maxinkuckee summer residents were might prominent in the Memorial Day 500-mile race at Indianapolis.

Thomas W. Binford, 1880 East Shore Drive, is president of the United State Auto Club which regulates the annual sports classic

Arthur B Lathrop, 1530 East SHore Drive, is the principal member of Racing associated, owner of the ccar driven so wonderfully by Johnny Thomson who finished third

William R. Kraftt, 890 South Shore Drive, is the owner of Monoarch Buick Co. of Indianapolis, which provided th snappy Buick pace car - 3 Jan 1959 - citizen

Kiwanis Honors WIlliam R Krafft For Youth Work.

William R. Krafft, president of Monarch Buick Company of Indianapolis, was honored recently by the Indiainapolis Kiwanis Club for his work among the youth of the city

Krafft, president of Junior Baseball Inc., from 1950 to 1954 and a driving force in placing that organization on its feet, received a plaque from the club in recongnition of his activities as head of Junior Baseball

The presentation was made by John Barney, city controller and acting, mayor. Krafft served as president of the capital city Kiwanis Club in 1953

I am spending a few days here on a Chamber of Commerce good will mission. Congressman Charles B. Brownson of Indianapolis is also in the party.

President Batista of Cuba has a reception for us today at the palace.
