H. H. Gregg appliance stores in Indianapolis, Kokomo and Anderson was started in 1955 by
Henry Harold and Fansy Gregg as a small appliance store and rapidly grew into the regional
chain of H. H. Gregg stores, Gregg Appliances is using its Indiana success to become one
of the nation's leading retailers of home appliances and consumer electronics. - brothers Don
and Gerald Throgmartin, stepson's of H. H. Gregg in 1985 developed a headquarters, office
and distribution complex on the north side of Indianapolis to support an expansion of the
company. In 2005, the company sold 80 percent of H H Gregg to Freeman Spogli & Co., a
private investment firm.

There was a passing this week that hardly anyone would have recognized or acknowledged.
It was not a passing in the sense that someone died or that a business failed, but a
moving on in a company that has made an indelible mark on the Indianapolis landscape...

March 31 marked the end of the Gregg family being in a leadership position within the
corporation that continues to have its headquarters in Indianapolis. Chief Operating
Officer Gregg Throgmartin — great-grandson of the founders — left to pursue other business
interests. Within the corporation, he had followed in the large footsteps of Fansy’s sons
Gerald and Don Throgmartin, and then Gerald’s son, Jerry, who left all of us far too soon

Don Throgmartin started cutting back his involvement with H. H. Gregg in the late '80s to
concentrate on real estate. Don & Ron Throgmartin the owners of Throgmartin Company
Realty and Development have been in the development business since 1987, focusing primarily
on commercial properties in the Midwest
Don Throgmartin moved from Indianapolis to Fort Myers in 1999, bought a house and proceeded
to enjoy himself - almost. Within the next two years son Ron Throgmartin became a permanent
resident of Fort Myers Closing the business they founded in 1987 in Indiana, the men re-opened
Throgmartin Company in Fort Myers by transferring all the key people and their families.
As developers put their best face on a planned, multi-million dollar riverfront project in Fort Myers,
Lee, Flordia i Nov. 2004. About five years ago, when Don Throgmartin discovered Fort Myers, it
reminded him of Indianapolis, their hometown.

Suzanne Throgmartin November 5, 1942 — November 25, 2017 Suzanne Jackson Throgmartin
75, passed peacefully on November 25. Suzi grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, attended
Shortridge High School, and married Don Throgmartin.
They were married for over 30 years and raised three children. Son, Dean Harold Throgmartin,
resides in Sarasota, Florida. Daughter, Dianne Throgmartin Caudill resides in Tampa, Florida
with Suzi's grand dog, Sunshine. Younger daughter, Denise Throgmartin resides in Indianapolis.
Suzi is survived by two siblings. Kathryn Jackson Allen who lives in Colorado Springs (Kenneth
Harold Allen). Suzi's younger sister, Deborah Lynn Jackson Strong, lives in Plymouth, Indiana.
Suzi was preceded in death by her brother, Terrance Dean Jackson. Also preceding Suzi in
passing were her parents, Forrest Dean Jackson and Martha Small Jackson, of Indianapolis,
Indiana.
