Oct 31, 2013 — Nehnevay, Frank G. "Fritz" Age 81, of Steger, passed away suddenly on
October 31st.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris (nee Lustig); his children, Jane (Wesley) Young,
Tom Nehnevay and Jim (Michelle) Nehnevay; grandchildren, Sarah, Sam, Emily, Elizabeth and
Joe Young, Fritz, Monica and Jenna Nehnevay; his sister, Rosemary Babiarz and many nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Rudolph Nehnevay; sister, Yolanda
Helmer; and brother, Marian.
Fritz was founder and owner of Checkmate Inc. in Chicago Heights for 47 years, from 1974 until
retirement in 2006.
He was a 1946 graduate of St. Agnes School, 1950 graduate of Bloom Township H.S., served in U.S.
Army from 1952-1954, spent 13 months in Korean Conflict.
Member and Past President of Kiwanis Morning Club in Chicago Heights, member of the former St.
Ann's Church in Chicago Heights, started basketball at the school and also active with Chicago
Heights Small Fry League; served as coach for many years.
Visitation will be held on November 4th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Heartland Memorial Center,
1340 Otto Blvd., Chicago Heights, IL. Mass to follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, Chicago
Heights, IL.
Private interment at Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Agnes Church Organ Fund.
