Solutions. - more funds avaiable than anticipated a new stairway inside &
an elevator connecting all 3 floors. eharigns to be held late April early
May. Changes to the lakeside stairway and attaching the proposed concession
stand to the beach lodge has been discouraged by the state grant administrators
as would be considered al altering the historical integrity of the building.
Combined funds are $2.2 million for the Beach lodge & Calvalier Park projects
with $2 million provided by OCRA. Projected plans - as shown for planning and

Culver, Indiana Beach Lodge Renovation - Project Public Hearing
On or about May 14, 2018, the Town of Culver, Indiana intends to apply to the Indiana Office of
Community and Rural Affairs for a grant from the State Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) as designated through the Stellar Community Program.
This program is funded by Title I of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of
1974, as amended. These funds are 10 be used for a community development project that will include
the following activities: the renovation of the existing Culver Beach Lodge as being utilized
as community center. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $1500000. The
amount at CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit low and moderate-
income persons is estimated to be 5864.000.
The Applicant also proposes to expend an estimated $270,000 in non-CDBG funds on the project. These
non-CDBG funds will be derived from the following sources: available cash on hand via a combination
of community funds.
Culver will hold a public hearing on Monday. April 30, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Culver Town Hall located at
200 East Washington Street, Culver, Indiana to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views
on the proposed federally funded CDBG project. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who
wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact the Culver Clerk Treasurer's Office at (574)
842-3140 not later than Friday. April 27, 2018. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations
for these persons.
Information related to this project will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of Thursday,
April 19, 2018 at the Culver Town Hall located at 200 East Washington Street, Culver, Indiana between
the hours of 8:00 am. and 4:00 p.m.
Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing
or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to: Jonathan Leist. Culver Town
Manager, at 200 East Washington Street, Culver, Indiana 46511 or email him at jleisttownofculver . org no later
than Friday. April 27, 2018 in order to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public
hearing proceedings.
A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared by the Town of
Culver and is also available to the public. However, this project will result in no displacement of any persons or

Culver Town Council Approves Contract for Beach Lodge Project
The Culver Town Council members approved a contract for the Culver Beach Lodge project last week.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist said Steve Park from Mosaic Builders submitted an amended contract in the
amount of $141,500 for architectural documents, construction administration and the survey.
The money needed for the contract will come out of the funds from the Office of Community and Rural
Affairs approved for the project.
The bid opening for the Culver Beach Lodge project is expected for Feb. 28. If all goes to schedule, work
would begin in March or April. The work would be planned around the beach schedule so the downstairs
restrooms and concession stands at the Beach Lodge can remain open throughout the summer.
This project, along with the Cavalier Sports Park,
is expected to be complete by March 31, 2020. They are both funded with money from OCRA as part of the Town
of Culver’s Stellar Communities Designation award.
