1962 - July 11 - Village Beauty Shoppe To Open Next Monday

Mrs. Phyllis Zehner, owner and operator of The Princess Beauty Shoppe, located in her home in the Poplar Grove neighborhood on South Pine Road just off of State Road 10, announces the opening of The Village Beauty Shoppe at the Village Motel on Lake Shore Drive in Culver . Opening date is scheduled for Monday, July 16.

The new establishment will specialize in permanent waves, including the new extraodinary Protein Bio Wave, personalized styling in shampoo-sets, hair cutting, hair coloring, and bleaching.

The Village Beauty Shoppe will also specialize in hot oil treatments, cream color rinses, dandruff treatments, hot oil manicures, facials, and exclusive fine quality cosmetics by Edith Rehnborg, a free sample of which each customer will receive with first shop appointment.

The Village Beauty Shoppe will observe hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. with other hours available (by appointment only. Phone Vlking 2-3511.

Mrs. Zehner is a graduate of the Vogue Beauty School in South Bend and has several years experience in beauty culture, having operated The Princess Beauty Shoppe since September, 1960. She will continue to operate this shop in addition to managing the new Village Beauty Shoppe at the Lake Shore address.

Miss Mari Edd Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schwartz of Monterey, is a graduate hair stylist and beautician from Hammond's Hoosier State Beauty College and will operate the new shop with Mrs. Zehner assisting part time.

Mrs. Mari Ellen Smith from Plymouth will be receptionist and consultant for the exclusive Edith Rehnborg Cometics. Mrs. S attended the Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Chicago
