    1922 - Mar 15 - Mrs. Amy Walker has bought the Lieut Dye residence property, formerly owned b y Ed. Bergman, north of the Keen photoraph studio. Ivan Walker will occupy the property

    1935 - Oct 16 - Sergeant Wlaker Promoted
      Ivan M. Walker, searean, U. S. Army, on special duty at the Academy, was promtoed to th grade of Staff Sergeant on October 1st. At the time of his promotion he was the ranking sergeant in the 5th corps area. He enlisted in the service on April 23, 1917 and during the World Was served with Battery of the 13th field artillery in ZFrance. He was also cited for bravery.


    1941 - Feb. 11 - Ivan Waler Assigned to Academy Staff
      Lieut. Ivan Walker has received orders attaching him to the P.M.S. & T. staff at Culver Military Academy, where he has served for the past 21 years. He retired as a master sergeant, and was recalled the same day as a first lieutenant.

      Lieut. Walker entlisted in the army in 1917 and was a member of the 2nd Division artillery that saw active service in FZrance during the first worl war.,

      His son Tommy is not serving in the air corps.


    1944 - Dec 27 - Capt. Ivan Walker left Tuesday to return to Morgantown, WVA, after spending the weekend with Mrs. Walker at their cottage on Long Point.

    Ivan M Walker Dies Suddenly At Age of 70
      Ivan M. Walker, age 70, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at his residence at 886 W e s t Shore Drive, Culver. He had been in ill health for the past five years, although his death was unexpected.

      Mr. Walker was a member of the Culver Methodist Church, the Culver W. A. Fleet American Legion Post No. 103, and was a veteran of World War I , World, War I I , and the Korean Conflict. He was the recipient of the Silver Star Citation in World War I .

      Born April 3, 1895 , in Plymouth to Thomas E. and Amy Mosher Walker, Mr. Walker had lived nearly all of his life in Culver, where he was stationed at Culver Military Academy for 22 years. He was a United States Army career man with 32 1/2 years of service.

      Mr. Walker was married March 2, 1920 , in Argos, to Dolyn H Kessler. who survives.

      Other survivors include a son, Thomas K. Walker of Culver; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Wooldridge of Culver, and Mrs. Naomi Williams, Laguana Beach, Calif.; a brother, Deane E. Walker of Plymouth; and one grandson. Thomas K. Walker II , Scottsdale, Ariz.

      Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Dec. 10, at. the Easterday-Bonine Funeral Home in Culver with Rev. Carl Q. Baker, pastor of the Culver Methodist Church, officiating.

      Burial will follow at the Culver Masonic Cemetery, where graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 103.

    1920 - Mar 3 - Much to the surprise of their many friends the announcement is made of the marriage on Tuesday at Argos of Mrs. Gwendolyn Kessler and Ivan M. Walker. Congratulations will ber hearty fot the young couple are popular with a wide circle of firends

    Mrs. Sarah Alice KESSLER, 95, Culver, a former Fulton county resident, died at 2:45 a.m. today at the Landis nursing home in Argos where she had been a patient for several months.

    Mrs. Kessler was born May 16, 1865, in Fulton county, and had resided in Culver for 61 years, going there from Fulton county. Her husband, Elihu KESSLER, died in 1921. She was a member of the Burton E.U.B. church.

    Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dolyan WALKER, Culver; Mrs. Ina GRAY, Springboro, O., and Miss Fern KESSLER, Indianapolis; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

    Private funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ivan WALKER residence at 886 West Shore drive, Culver, with the Rev. Albert WELLS, of Flint, Mich., officiating. Burial will be made in the Hoover cemetery Athens.

    Friends may call at the Walker residence after noon Wednesday. The Easterday funeral home, Culver, is in charge of arrangements - Tuesday, March 7, 1961 Rochester Sentinel
