Mr and Mrs. Otto C. Hornung of the Cruft-Tiller flats have purchased the property known as the
Otto Hipplehauser
cottage at Lake Maxinkuckee. The cottage is located on the side of the lake known as Long Point
and will be extensively repaired this spring and made ready for the occupancy of the Hornung family
this summer Mr Hornung is also negotiating for a motor boat for his family, for use at the lake. With
the purchase of the Hipplehauser place the Hornung family join the already large colony of Terre
Haute people who have summer homes at Lake Maxinkuckee and spend the heat months there.

A traveling salesman, in speaking of the recent death of Edward C. Sage, said that he was
one of the best-known traveling salesmen in the State, having traveled for one Terre Haute
wholesale house for nearly twenty-five years. Mr. Sage was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania,
and when a young man came to Indianapolis, then going to Terre Haute where he was married,
his wife and five children surviving him. Mr. Sage was in ill health for two years, it unfitting him for
business, but when well, he was cheerful and a good entertainer in conversation. The funeral
services were held at the residence of George M. Seibert of this city, and the remains were
buried at Crown Hill

Anne K. Hornung Succumbs Sunday to Brief Illnessl
Mrs. Anna K. Hornung, wife of Otto C. Hornung founder of Hornung's Shoe Store died at 6:40 o'clock yesterday evening at St. Anthony's hosptial. She was 81 years old.l
Only lasy Monday Mrs. Hornung became ill. She was taken to the hospital from the residence, 927 Center Street on Tuesday.l
A resident of the city for more than 60 years, she had been active in church and civic circles since coming here from Fort Wayne, her native city.l
Mrs. Hornung had been a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church since she moved here from Fort Wayne. She also was a chater member of the Daughter of the Nile.l

An only son, Rahe O. Hornung, survivies beisides the husband. The body was teken to the P. J. Ryan & Sons Funeral Home.

HORNUNG’S INCORPORATE. HAHN WILL MANAGE

It was announced today by Rahe O Hornung that as of Jan. Hornung's Shoe Store will be
incorporated as Hornung’s Inc.
It was stated by Mr. Hornung rhat the incorporation would merge the assets and management of Homung’s Shoe Store, owned and operated by Mr.Hornung the children’s shoe department, owned and operated by Ray Hahn.
The new corporation will under the active management Mr Hahn, who will also be new executive head of the business. There is no change in policy or in personnel contemplated. Hornung’s Inc., is one of oldest retail establishments in middle west.
The business being originally founded by Otto Hornung 55 years ago.
