    In 1912, Ora started up, what would prove to be, a successful business providing tree-related services like pruning, trimming, spraying, which he eventually built into a full-service, landscaping enterprise.

    Between 1924 -1927, Ora and Daisy moved to Culver, acquiring a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home built in 1921, located at 517 Lake Shore Drive.

    In 1939, there was an auction announcement in The Culver Citizen in which Ora was having a farm auction, selling off the farm's livestock, grain, and other goods. It seems that Ora then rented the property to someone else to farm.

    A newspaper clipping from 1946 indicated that Ora owned two more farms in the Mt. Hope community—the Loren Johnson farm and the Listenberger farm

    1947 - 4 Jun - Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Smith have moved to their cottage on Long Point for the summer

    1961, Ora and Daisy had changed shores, living for a time at 1070 East Shore Drive before selling the property to Mrs. John C. Glackman in October of 1961 and moving to West Shore

    O. T. Smith, 79, Culver, a retired self-employed landscaper, died yesterday in a local nursing home. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the Masonic Lodge and order of Eastern Star. Services well be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bodine-Easterday Funeral Home at Culver.     1919 - October 22, Ora. T. Smith of Fairland and Miss Daisy Reeder of Culver were married Oct. 20. at the office of William Huff. They will make their home in Frankfort where Mr. Smith is engaged in forestry work.

      An open house will be held Sunday, Oct. 19, honoring Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Smith of 918 West Shore Drive, Culver, in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary.

      Mr. and Mrs. Smith were married Oct. 20, 1919 and have lived their entire married life in Culver.

      They have one daughter, Mrs. H. J. (Julia) Zacharias and three grandchildren of Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Zacharias, Scott, Kent and Lynn will be the hosts for the open house which will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Culver Inn. No formal invitations are being sent but all friends and relatives are invited.

    Culver - Daisy J. Smith, 80, of 918 West Sore Drive died at 10 a.m. at the Garfield Nursing Home in Indianapolis.

    She was born Oct 25 1897 Marshall county where shw was a lifetime resident.

    She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution. She was worth mation of the EMily J. Culver Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

    On Oct 20 1919 in Plymouth she married Ora T. Smith, who died in 1970.

    Surviving are a son-in-law of IIndianapols, and three grandchildren.

    Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Nonine Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Bowman, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate.

    Burial will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery.

    Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church.
