Mrs. Julia I. Zacharias , 45, 7377 Sandalwood Drive, Indianapolis,
passed away at 1:45 P.M. on Monday. October 1, 1973, at the
University Heights Hospital in Indianapolis, followin g an illness
over the past three years.
She was born in Culver on November 27, 1927, to Ora T. and
Daisy J. (Reeder) Smith. She had been a resident of Indianapolis
for the past twenty years.
She is a member of· the First Presbyterian Church of Southport,
Indiana Chapter President of P.S.J. Sorority. and a member of
the Emily Jane Culver Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
She was married on November 25, 1950. at Many, Louisiana, to
H. J. Zacharias. who survives, with three children, Scott, Kent and
Lynn Zacharias. all at home, and her mother, Mrs. O. T. (Daisy J.)
Smith, Culver.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday. October
4,1973, at the Bonine Funeral Home, Culver. Rev. Earl W. Sharp.
pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will
follow in the Culver Masonic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Bonine Funeral Home, Culver, until the
time of the services. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer
Society will be accepted by the family

Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Smith announce the marriage of their daughter Julia, to
Lieutenant H. J. Zacharias on Saturday, November 25, at Many, Louisiana.
Mrs. Zacharias is a graduate of Culver High School and received her Bachelor of
Science Degree in Business Administration at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
For the past eighteen months she had been employed by the Proctor and Gamble
Company of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Lt. Zacharias is a native of Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma
with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in coaching, education and history and was working on
his Masters Degree when called into service.
At present he is stationed at Camp Polk, Lousiana [sic] and the young couple will
reside temporarily at Leesville, La. - Citizen - 20 Dec 1950

Culver - Services for H. J. Zacharias, 56, of 7377 Sandalwood Drive, Indianapolis, who
died at noon Sunday at his summer redidence at Lake Mxinkuckee, will be at 2 p.m.
Thursday at the Bonine Funeral Home, Culver. Rev. Thomas French will officiate.
Burial will be in CUlver Masonic Cemetery with the VFW Post 6818 conducting graveside
services.
Friends may call after 2 pm.m Wedneday at the fuenral home.
Memoirald may be made to the American Caner Society.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1924, at Weatherfod Okla.
He lived in Indianapolis and spent summers at Lake Macinkuckee for many years.
He was principal of Theodore Potter School No. 74. in Indianapolis.
On Nov. 25, 1950, at Many, La., he married Julia I. SMith, who died in 1973.
Survivoirs include a daughter: Miss Julie Lynn Zaharias, at home; two sons: Scott at
River Falls, Wis. and Kent of Lees Summit, Mo.; twp grandchildren, and three brothers:
Jesse of Hydro, Okla; Everett of Caney, Okla. and Eldon of Weatherford, Okla.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis; Henry H. Culver Lodge
617 Free and Accepted Masons; the Finney-Shilling VFW Post 6818 and the Indiana Association
