Mr. and Mrs Geore A. Graffis, 920 East SHore Srive, have as their guests their daughter, Mrs. Donald Rany, Long Beach, Calif.

The Raney's daughter, Gail is atteneding the SUmmer Theatre Workshop at the Culver SUmmer Schools.

Mr. Raney and son Bruce, will join the family about Aug. 15, and before returning to California, the family will visit in New York and Wshington D. C.

Another daughter of Mr. and Mrs Graffis, Mrs. Herbert Seltz of Bloomington, Ind. and chrldren will joine the family group.

Mr. Seltz, a professor on the faculty of Indiana University, will also join his family in Culver.

Logansport - George A. Graffis, 91, former Logansport businessman, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Long Beach, Calif.

BOrn in Logansport, he operated Graffis Shoe Store here for 60 years, retiring in 1964

He was on the board of directors of he Citizens Bank of Logansport anf the board of directors of General Telephone of Indiana for many years.

He was a member of Calvery Presbyterian Chruch and a life member of ELks Lodge, both in Logansport.

Surviving are the widow, Ruth R.; two daughters: Mrs. Carolyn Raney of Long Beach, Calif and Mrs. Herbert Seltz of Bloomington - - Lafayette Journal and Courier May 21, 1971

Mrs Graddis Passes Away

Wife of Prominent SHore Merchant Dies at Hospital after Short Illness

Mrs. Ora Sala Graffis, wife of George A. Graffis, local shore store proprietor and a lifelong resident of this city, passed away at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning at the St. Joseph hospital following a short illness

The daughter of William and Margaret Musselman Sala, Mrs. Graffis was a graduate of the Knickerbocker Hall at Indianapolis and Coates college at Terre Haute.

Surviving ate the hisband and the mother, Mrs. Margaret Sala, 1111 East Market Street.

Private funeral rites will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Wesnesday afternoon at the residence, 1111 East Market Street, Father Raymond O'Brien officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Pallbeares will be: Victor Wise, Dr. Fred Teflinger, Don Hockman, Fred Miller, Dr. W. A. Holloway and Ed Pitman.

The body will remain at the Chase and Miller chapel until Wednesday morning when it will be removed to the residence. - Logansport Pharos-Tribune May 29, 1939
