Dr. Warren K. Reiss is the director of the Culver Academies’ Health Center. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University, and then attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati School Of Medicine. Dr. Reiss completed his residency in Family Practice at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.

he married 2nd Mary Kay Karzas , the deputy director of development; at Culver Acadmies.

A 1975 alumna of Kenyon College at Gambier, Ohio, from which she graduated with a degree in classics, Karzas is a native of Illinois. Following an early career at Kenyon shr served as Director of Development and Alumnae Relations at her boarding school alma mater, Chatham Hall in Virginia for three years, and had worked as both Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs and Assistant Director of Development at Kenyon. She then went to Indiana's Culver Academies, where she was director of development and assistant secretary to the board and a leader of a $200-million campaign after her 20th year there and a twenty-three-year hiatus she returned to Kenyon to become the College's director of annual giving. A class agent for Kenyon, she has been active as an admissions, career-network, and phonation volunteer, as a member of her twentieth, twenty-fifth, and thirtieth reunion committees, and as chair of the Chicago Regional Association. Mary Kay was awarded Kenyon's Distinguished Service Award in both 1977 and 2005 and the D. Morgan Smith Award for Outstanding Class Agent in 1995. Since 1984, she has been involved with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education activities, especially District V, for which she served as chair. She received the Case V Distinguished Service Award in 2002. She was also a member of the CASE Philanthropy Commission from 2003-2006. She then returned to Culver in 2007, where she is now the Deputy Director of Development. Mary Kay oversees the operations side of the development office, including the annual giving team, stewardship, gift processing, research, and the support staff, and also works on Culver 's By Example Campaign.

2011 - 1 Oct - Lakeshore Clinic becomes affiliated with Saint Joseph Physician Network.

Physicians Warren Reiss, MD, and Michael Deery, MD, have practiced together for more than 35 years at Lake Shore Clinic in Culver .On October 27th 2011 the announcement was made by the Saint Joseph Physician Network that the Lakeshore clinic become part of the Saint Joseph Physician Network.

Michael F. Deery, MD, Undergraduate: Marian College, Indianapolis, graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Marion County General Hospital. He is board certified in family medicine and geriatrics and has 46 years of medical experience. Dr.

2015 - May 31 - - Culver physician for nearly four decades Reiss to retire

Reiss, one-half of Culver's Lake Shore Clinic's MD staff (alongside Dr. Michael Deery), will retire after 38 years of serving not only the Culver community, but also as one of Culver Academies' on-site physicians as well (also sharing that duty with Deery).

The clinic made the announcement in a letter sent to its patients earlier this month


"The staff at Lake Shore Clinic is dedicated to doing everything possible to ensure a seamless transition during this time. Our team of providers, including Dr. Michael Deery, will continue to provide you with the quality, compassionate, and complete continuum of care you've come to expect.

Lake Shore Clinic has been the community's only family medical practice for some years now, and has remained largely as it is today for nearly four decades (with the exception of its becoming part of the St. Joseph Health network in 2011). But the clinic also announced the impending arrival of two new physicians, family medicine physician Dr. Rebecca Brice, and pediatrician Dr. Anome Adame.

Given the transition of physicians at the clinic, Martin notes that the medical records of patients who wish to transition to a new physician outside the network will remain confidential and be transferred when consent is given by the patient.

Reiss came to Culver in 1977, to serve both Culver Academies and Lake Shore Clinic, marking a shift in methodology at the Academies, where a single doctor or "surgeon" exclusively served the school rather than sharing duties with the community by way of the Lake Shore Clinic.

Deery, who will remain in his post at Lake Shore Clinic but will retire from serving Culver Academies (as will Reiss) at the end of this school year, came to Culver earlier, in 1968, initially to serve the clinic. He joined Reiss at Culver Academies, where the two have continued to share duties up to now, in 1977
