    Faith Ritz Engle Hippensteel 100, Bloomington, Indiana, died at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 15, 2009 in Meadowood Retirement Community in Bloomington.

    She was born J uly 8, 1909 in Indiana to Volna E. and Mamie (Gallion) Ritz She married Dr. David Edwin Engle, who preceded her in death and she married Dr. Russell Hippensteel who also preceded her in death.

    She taught Latin, English, and Debate at Royal Center and Russiaville Schools.

    She graduated from Russiaville High School in 1926. She was also a graduate of DePaw University and a post graduate at the University of Arizona. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., Tri Kappa, D.A.R., and Delta Delta Delta.

    Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne Engle Gurr and husband (Dr. Henry Sater Gurr)of Aiken, S.C.; one step-son, Donald Hippensteel and wife (Carolyn) of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Ruth Rusie of Martinsville and Esther Collyer of Bloomington; one brother, Eugene Ritz of Indianapolis; 3 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.


    She was preceded in death by her parents, and two husbands.

    Services entrusted to Stout & Son Funeral Home in Russiaville, IN. Burial in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
