    1936 Aug 19 Mrs. Goldsmith, Former Cottager Here, Dies

    Maude Carr Goldsmith, 65 years old, died at her home in Terre Haute on Saturday night.

    Mrs. Goldsmith had motored out to the circus grounds with her son Arthur Goldsmith. The son lef this mother in the car and went to the ticket booths to see about tickers. When he returned to the car. Mrs. Goldsmith was slumped down in the seat. She had suffered a heart attack.

    The son rushed his mother to her home and a physician was immediately summoned but Mrs. Goldsmith did not rally from the attack.

    Mrs. Goldsmith was the widow of the late Fred Goldsmith.

    She is survived by two sons: Carr Goldsmith of St Paul, Minn. and Arthur Goldsmith of Terre Haute

    Mrs Goldsmith had been a cottager on Long Point for over 20 years. - Terre Haute

      Former local resident dies MATTOON -
        Fredric [sic: Frederic] Carr Goldsmith, 82, of rural Crawfordsville Ind., formerly of Mattoon, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville [sic: Crawfordsville], Ind.

        Private funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Helms Funeral Home, Linden, Ind., with burial In Linden Cemetery.

        There will be no visitation.

        Mr. Goldsmith was born In Terre Haute, Ind., July 28, 1894, the son of Fred and Maude Carr Goldsmith.

        He married Clarise [sic: Clarice] Craig In Terre Haute, Ind., in 1916. She preceded him In death.

        He later married Edith Linn In Chicago [sic: Indiana] In 1933.* She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Linn C. of Grandville [sic: Granville] and Fredric [sic: Frederic] Craig of Moore, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

        Mr. Goldsmith retired In 1961, He had been an engineer for Biggs Pump In Lafayette, Ind.- Journal Gazette, Mattoon, Illinois, Thursday, September 16, 1976
