Jane Ann (Snider) Grund was born on September 16, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Max and EdytheS nider.

Jane grew up in Knightstown, Indiana. After graduating from Knightstown High School, she attended Indiana University, Bloomington, and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Sociology.

Jane married James H Grund in 1965 and later moved to Peru, Indiana to raise their children. The family spent wonderful summers in Culver at “the lake” when the children were young. Lake Maxincukee was Jane's “happy place,” and Jane moved to Culver permanently, as year round resident, in 1995.

Jane had many occupations over the years... in human resources, management, real estate, marketing, and most recently as director of the Lake Maxinkuckee Association.

Jane led a very active life: waterskiing and running were two of her favorite pursuits. Jane shared her love of the lake with everyone, teaching kids to swim & waterski, or driving her “big red boat” for skiing and tubing. “Come back anytime” was always her parting sentiment to visitors.

Jane was a licensed private pilot, as well as a certified flight instructor. If she had a second “happy place,” it would be in the skies.

In the rare moments when she did sit still, usually at the end of the dock, she enjoyed reading.

Jane is survived by her children Jama Anne (Grund) Lidral and James David Grund, daughter-in-law Shawna Grund and grandchildren Joseph Lidral, Hannah Lidral, Aaron Lidral, Mallori Grund, and Maci Grund.

She was preceded in death by her parents Max and Edythe Snider, and her sister, Mary Snider.
