Susan Louise Perkins born 11 Feb 1904 died 4 Nov 1984 Frankfort, Clinton county Indiana buried Culver Masonic Cemetery daughter of Samuel E. Perkins III and Mary F. Milford she recieved her high school education at Tudor Hall in Indianapolis. Later she went to the University of Chicago and to Purdue.

On May 17, 1930 Cook County, Illinois married Frank Meryl Setzler whom she had met at the University of Chicago. The same year he obtained a position as an archeologiist at the U. S. National Museum in Washington D. C. where they spent the next 30 years.

    Doctor Setzler, a well known archeologist, has retired and moved to Culver recently from Washington, D.C., where for 25 years he was head of the department of anthropology and chief curator of the Smithsonian Institution. Prior to that he was Indiana State Archeologist from 1928 to 1930.

    A graduate of Ohio State University and the University of Chicago, Doctor Setzler, also has the degree of Fellow, Society of American Archeology, and Fellow, A.A.A.S. American Anthropology Association, and is the author of numerous books, articles, etc., on anthropology and is recorded in "Who's Who." In 1948 he headed an expedition to Australia.

Setzler To Head "Will Erwin For Congress" Group
    Frank M. Setzler, Culver, Indiana, retired Head Curator of the Department of Anthropology of the Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C., is the Chairman of the Marshall County Will Erwin for Congress Committee.

    He was the first Indiana State Archeologist from 1928 to 1930.

    Setzler, a Republican Precinct Committeeman, is former Vice President of the Culver Chamber of Commerce, served as President of the Lake Maxinkuckee Association and was Chairman of the successful Marshall County GO.P. Lincoln Day Dinner this year.

    In a letter to Marshall County Republican leaders, Setzler said, "I am impressed by the fact that Senator Will Erwin has acquired such astonishingly varied political experience. All of it contributes to his qualification for major office.

    "With my experience in Washington, I believe that the new Third District of Indiana needs a Congressman who will properly represent the entire District. I think, further, that Republicans should nominate the man best equipped to win. I am convinced that Will Erwin .is that man." Commenting on the new Marshall County Campaign Chairman, Will Erwin said, "Dr. Setzler is a man of outstanding scientific and cultural accomplishment.
