THE HOWARD OBERLIN9 ENTER SHRIMP BUSINESS

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Oberlin returned to Culver recently after spending the past six months in Fort Myers, Fla. The Oberlins have entered the shrimp business with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. Black, under the business name of, "Black and Oberlin Shrimp Co." Having bought two more shrimp boats they now have three boats - the "Donna Lee," named after their daughter, the "Celeste Joan," and the "Ike."

In the winter they shrimp off of Key West and bring the shrimp into Fort Myers. Then for six months in the summer they go to Texas and shrimp the Texas coast and bring the shrimp into Freeport, Texas.

The Oberlins report that when they left Florida their boats were shrimping in the Tarpon Springs area where they were having the biggest run of shrimp in five years. Shrimpers were swarming in from all parts of the Gulf of Mexico. Although shrimp are plentiful in that area they are very small.

Mr. and Mrs. Oberlin plan to remain in Culver for about six months and will return to Florida next winter. - Culver Citizen Culver Citizen Wed, Jun 05, 1963

BECOMES BRIDE OF H. H. OBERLIN The Tribune's Special Service. HAMLET, Ind., May 16. - A beautiful wedding ceremony was solemnized in the Hamlet Methodist Episcopal church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, when Miss Millie M. Schnitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Schnitt, of Hamlet, became the bride of Howara H. Oberlin, son of Mrs. Emma Oberlin, of Herscher, Ill. Rev. A. H. Lawrence, pastor of the church, officiated.

The bride, who walked to the altar with her father, wore a white georgette gown trimmed with lace, and a full length head wreath of organge! blossoms.

The bridal party included Miss Lura McCormick, bridesmaid; Raymond Schnitt, best man; Billie Oberlin, ring bearer, and Mary Grey Hufft and Dorothy Jean Oberlin, flower girls. Miss Eunice Danielson sang two solos and Miss Antoinette Yoder played piano solos. Ushers were Elmore Short, Miss Bernice Laramore and Miss Gladys Laramore. More than 200 guests were present, at the ceremony.

Among the out of town relatives and friends were the following: Mrs. Emma Oberiin, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Oberlin and Miss Bernadette Diesenbaen, all of Herscher, Ill. The Chicago guests were Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Hufft and two children, and William Bitters and daughter, Louise; Miss Lura McCormick, Seibolt and Harry E. Cowle. Mrs. James Dorothana Price, of Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Sanders, of Tomeston, and Mrs. Millie Eckert and daughter, Ella, of Wanatah, were present.

A wedding dinner was served by the bride's parents the Yellowstone hotel at 5:30 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Oberlin left for a trip in the west and will be at home in Herscher - South Bend Tribune May 16, 1928 Page 22
