Bruce Robinson summer resident dies In Texas
Dr. Bruce Robinson, age 73, a summer resident of 958 West Shore drive Culver , died at
7:30 p.m. Tuesday in a Nursing home in McAllen Texas, folowing an illness of nine months
Dr. Robinson, brother of M. R. Robinson
of Culver, was born in 1890 and resided in Newark, NJ until his retirement.
He was a member of the Culver methodist church
Survivors in additon to M. R. include a sister of Tulasa, Ok.
Funeral arangements are in charge of the Easterday-Bonine fueral Home, Culver , where services
are incomplete. Contributions in memory of Mr. Robinson will be accepted.
Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Robinson who have been spending the winter at McAllen, are leaving there today
and expect to arrive home friday or Saturday. March 26 1964
Funeral Services Held Monday For Bruce Robinson
Graveside services were held at the Culver Masonic Cemetery Monday monring for Dr. Bruce B. Robinson,
age 72, with Dr. Ronald C. Williams, pastor of the Culver Methodist Church, officiating. Dr. Robinson
died March 24 at McAllen, Texas, after a nine-month illness.
He was born in Compton, Ill., the son of Dr. and Mrs. C. R. Robinson.
He was graduated from Baker University, received his master's degree from Clarke University, and
doctor of medicine from Harvard University. He did graduate study at Heidelberg Univeristy, Germany.
Dr. Robinson served on the staffs of Toronto, Canada, General HOspital; Massachuesetts State Hospital
and St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Washington D.C.
He was a psychiatrist the the U.S> Veterans Bureau in New York City, after which he established, under
the auspices of the National Committee of Mental Hygiene, child guidence clinics in Cleveland, Oh.;
Macon, Ga.; Memphis, Tenn; and other major cities. He founded one of the first child guidence clinis
in a public school at Newark, N.J. and served as its director for 30 years. He was a member of the
faculty of Newark State Teachers college and lectured in several collges.
Eight years ago Dr. Robinson retired and mde his home on Lake Maxinkuckee where ha had been a summer
resident since 1924. He spent his winters in McAllen, Texas.
Dr. Robinson is the donor of the chimes at the Culver Methodist Church as well as the public address and
hearing aid systems.
He was a member of the Culver Methodist Church, American Medical Association, New Jersey Medical
Association, New Jersey State Teachers Association, various psychiatric groups, New York Urban League
and Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He was a World War I veteran.
Dr. Robinson is survived by his brother M. R. Robinson of Culver and his sister Mrs. Blance M. Conner of
