Earl W. Schafer Succumbs Saturday At Pilgrim Manor

Earl W Schafer, 85, 980 West Shore Drive, Culver , died at 8 a.m., Saturday at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Schafer, who was born Sept. 16, 1883 at Inwood to Charles and Cordelia Mattewson Schafer, owned the Schafer Lumber company of Chicago , Ill, until his retirement i 1961.

Mr. Schafer had resided at Culver for 27 years, going there from River Forest, Ill. He was a member of the Austin Masonic lodge and Medina Shrine temple of Chicago, Ill.

He was married Sept. 11, 1912 at Logansport to Annette M . Fisher, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Charles H . Schafer< Plymouth; and two grandsons.

Services were conducted at 2 p. m., Tuesday at Easterday-Bonine Funeral Home, Culver , with Rev. John Krueger, pastor of the Culver Grace United Church of Christ, officiating.

Entombment followed at the Fisher family mausoleum at Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport. - Aug 31 1969 - Citizen

Mrs. Annette Mae Schafer, 85, Culver , died at 1 a.m. today in the Beech hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after an illness of several months. She was the widow of Earl W. Schafer,. Final rites are pending at the Grossman fneral home in Argos.- Thursday, January 7, 1971 Rochester Sentinel

Funeral services for Mrs. Annette Schafer,, 85, Culver , who died at 1 a.m. Thursday in the Beech hospital at Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Grossman funeral home in Argos. The Rev. James Campbell will officiate.

Intombment will be in the family mausoleum at Mount Hope cemetery in Logansport.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Schafer was born May 18, 1885 in Dexter, Mo., to Samuel and Jane Fisher. She had lived in Chicago and Culver for 30 years. She previously had lived in Logansport. She was married to Earl W. Schafer, in 1915 in Logansport; he died in August, 1969. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Surviving are a son, Charles , R.R. 4, Plymouth; two grandsons, and two brothers, Dwight Fisher, Morehouse, Mo., and Glen Cisher, of Texas. Two brothers, a sister and a grandson preceded in death. Friday, January 8, 1971 - Rochester Sentinel
