1919, Sep 3 - Last week Sunday was the occasion of a large family picnic on the Chadwick
grounds of Long Point. Mr. and Mrs. John Himmelberger, Mr. and Mrs.H. L. Crismond and
Mrs. S. A. Fisher with their children and grandchildren comprised the gathering. Mrs Fisher
and Mrs Crismond are sisters of Mr. Himmelberger and the three families now own
Long Point which they propose to make the scene of future family meetings. Charles
Himmelberger of Cape Girarrdeau, Mo, Harry Himmelberge of Morsehouse, Mo., Mrs. Arthur
Grund of Kokomo, Mrs. Jean Armicost of Logansport, Mrs. Earl Schaffer of Chicago, Glen
Fisher of Morehouse, Mo. and Earl Fisher of Morehouse, Mo. with their families were present.

This is the last view - of Long Point as one will remember it in years past - building began on the empty lots sometime after this aerial view was taken in 2005. The f ull house and garage in the mid lower right hand corner was the
Schafer cottage and the empty two lots to the north also belonged to the Schafer's as noted above in the listing of lots.

2006 - Was developed initially in 2006 as a joint venture between Collins Builders
and a stock trader from Chicago. The developement included two houses 986 West Shore and
990 West Whore Drive. Initially there was opposition to the developement from pre-existing
landowners on Long Point
The end lots had no right of way or access to the public road. After several options and
lawsuits the owners f the 986 West Shore property purchased the access roan from West
Shore Circle to the 986 West Shore Property and the Long Point development began.

Tom Spiece turned the house into a personal museum of his collected artifacts,
