' 2006 - Was developed initially in 2006 as a joint venture between Collins Builders and a stock trader from Chicago. The development included two houses 986 West Shore and 990 West Shore Drive. Initially there was opposition to the development from pre-existing landowners on Long Point

The end lots had no right of way or access to the public road. After several options and lawsuits the owners of the 986 West Shore property purchased the access roan from West Shore Circle to the 986 West Shore Property and the Long Point development began

Over the years, George has guided ASH’s growth to become one of the nation’s largest health services organizations, providing a broad range of musculoskeletal provider network, fitness and exercise, and health management programs.

Mr. George Thomas DeVries, III, of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, is Chairman, President, CEO and co-founder of American Specialty Health, Inc. and its subsidiaries, American Specialty Health Plans, American Specialty Health Networks, American Specialty Health Systems, and Healthyroads. com. In his position, he manages complementary and alternative health care benefits, networks and services for over 100 health plans covering over 40 million Americans.

American Specialty Health plans is a licensed specialty health plan covering over 4 million Californians for chiropractic and acupuncture. American Specialty Health Systems is a health services intermediary in over 20 states serving over 1.7 million members.
American Specialty Health Networks is a national health services organization serving over 35 million Americans and offering a national provider network of over 19,000 chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, dieticians, naturopaths, and fitness clubs. Healthyroads.com is a complementary healthcare consumer products company offering e-commerce and mail order.

Mr. DeVries was the National Entrepreneur of the Year for Health Sciences in 2000. Mr. DeVries has published a number of articles and has lectured on alternative health care in managed care and third-party reimbursement. He attended Culver Academies and received a B.A. from the University of California at San Diego.

In 2000 was a member of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy

White-DeVries Rowing Center
The White-Devries Rowing Center was built and dedicated in 2012 in honor of the two primary donors, Miles White ‘73 and George T. DeVries III ‘77, both of whom rowed during their time at Culver. Located on Culver’s campus, the Rowing Center sits on the north shore of Lake Maxinkuckee, the second largest natural lake in Indiana.
