She is survived by her husband, Ed Rickman; one sister, Nancy Peterson; and 5 children, Eddie (Brenda) Rickman, Jeanne (John) Newman, Cathy (Michael) Faylor, Lynn Rickman and her partner, Lisa Perrault, & Jane (Ryan) Sheets. She has 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Nita was born April 3, 1944, in Wanatah, Indiana, to Stan and Gay Flowers.

She attended Valparaiso High School and married her high school sweetheart, Ed Rickman, soon after graduating on August 11, 1962.

They lived in Valparaiso a few years where Ed managed a gas station and started a job where he was a tool and die maker. They moved to Culver, Indiana, in 1969, where Nita and Ed raised five children.

She enjoyed puzzles, reading, quilting, her flowers, and dearly loved family time with her grandchildren.

Her mother and father, a sister, Donna Eldridge, and grandson, Douglas Newman, preceded Nita in death.

Arrangements are Wednesday 11:00 am Mass at Saint Mary's Of The Lake in Culver, with a dinner at the church to follow.
