John E. Fell Jr.

John E. Fell Jr., 81, Kokomo passed away Monday, Aug. 31, 2015. He was born Dec. 5, 1933.

John practiced law in Howard County for 49 years. He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1951, and attended Indiana University's School Business, where he graduated in 1955 with a degree in finance. In 1957, he graduated from IU with a doctorate of juris prudence. John was a member of the Indiana Law Journal staff.

He was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church and served on the board of trustees as chairman of March of Dimes. He served as chairman of Howard County American Red Cross, and was a past president of Kokomo Rotary Club and Kokomo Country Club. John also served as chairman of the board of directors and general counsel of First National Bank and Trust for 32 years.

John also enjoyed coin collecting, antique cars and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Fell, Kokomo; children, Jane Fell Fraizer, Lafayette, California, John E. Fell III (Jef), Scott, Louisiana, and James Robert Fell, Grapevine, Texas; stepchildren, Chris King, Jennifer Fisher, Jeff King and Mary McClain; grandchildren, John E. Fell IV, Kellee Fell Kleinke, Grant Fraizer, Kate Fraizer and Rebecca Fraizer; stepgrandchildren, Courtney Fisher, Sam Fisher, Jackson McClain and Liam McClain; great-grandchildren, Jack Ellis Kleinke and Marley Fraizer; and siblings, Kathryn Elizabeth (Betsy) Demaree, Sitka, Alaska, Dr. Robert Fell, Lafayette, Louisiana, and Ruth Ann Keedy, Culver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John E Fell Sr. and Karthryn (Hoadley) Fell; brother, Bert Hoadley Fell; and sister, Kathryn Jane Fell.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, 219 W. Mulberry St., Kokomo, followed by a private family graveside burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church, and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, also at the church.. Hasler & Stout Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. - Published on September 2, 2015
