Charles Wesley Wade Dies After Two-Year Illness
Charles Wesley Wase, aged 74 died at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth Monday after a two year ilnnes
He was born at Rockville, Ind. and came to Culver Military Academy in 1902 where he was employed as a custodian until his retirment in 1944
Surviving are his wife Virginia; two daughters: Mrs. Leonad Carter of Chicago and Mrs. Dorothy Dickerson of Rockvilee; a sister: Mrs. Emma Pearson of Chicago; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Wade was a member of the Rollins Chapel in Culver.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday with burial at Culver Masonic Cemetery.
Rev. E. C. Haney of LaPorte will officiate. Friends may call at the Easterday Funeral Home.

Mrs Charles Wade died about 7 o'clock yesterday morning form the effects of a clot of blood on
the brain following a week's illness. She was 32 years of age and the mother of three children a son
and two daughters - the oldest of whiom is about 14 years. Mrs. Wade has been connected with the
academy for many years, and the family have been not only amoung the pienoeer colored residents of
Culver, Ind. but respected by the entire community.

Victoria Leoma Rollins daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rollins was born at Columbia, Mo. Nov 20, 1885 and died Nov. 20 1917, on her 33d brithday.
At an early age the foundation of her useful life was laid when she became a member of the church of that city at the age of 9. Her parents then came to Culver where she at once united with the M. E. church, thereby acknowledging her great desire to become a more efficient worker in the vineyard of our master. SHe was educated in the public school
On Sept 29, 1904, she was married to Chas. W. Wade. To this union were born four children - Chas. Wesley, Mary Leoma, Dorothy Jeanette, one daughter Violet Ethel passing away in inancy.
Mrs Wade worked earnestly to effect the organization of Rolins chapel and at once she became a member a member of this church, proving herself an active worker in all auxiliaries. She was president of the W. M. society, teacher in the Sunday School, secretary of the Ladies' Club and member of the choir - - a woman of refined qualities, our beloved friend and neiighbor.Through untiring efforts to assist others she acquired a large number of friends.
Although stricken with an illness thaw was to deprive her of her young life she was patient and at all times ready when physically able to consle those in attendance. Oftime not being able to converse at length she would exclaim: "Oh praise the Lord!"
Quietly and peacefull she answered the summons "Come home", leaving husband, one son, two daughters, father and mother; one sister and two b rothers.
The funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church Nov. 22 Rev. Chas. Bell, who preached a very beautiful discourse, was assisted by the pastor and choir. - Dec 12, 1917 Citizen

Funeral Services Held for Mrs. Charles Wade
Mrs. Anna Gertrude Wade, age 64, wife of Charles Wesley Wade, died at Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, Friday April 26, after an illness of three weeks. She was taken to the hospital on Wednesday.
Mrs. Wade was born in Alabama and spent her early life in Chicago, coming to Culver to live 25 years ago.
She was a member of the Rollins Chapel, and Entre Nous Club
Surviving are the husband, two step-daughters Mrs. Leona Carter of Chicago and Mrs. Dorothy Dickerson Of Roickville, Ind.; a sister Miss Empress L. Davidson of St. Louis, Mo.; a nephew Eugene Calvin Davidson of Los Angles, Calif.; and a cousin John W. Graves of Chicago.
Funeral services were held at the Easterday Chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. W. M. Williams in charge.

She was married to Charles Wade, September 4, 1947, who preceded her in death February 1, 1954
She has one surviving son Raymond Miller of Los Angles, Califoronia; on sister Mrs. ELise Byrd of Culver, Ind.; one brother Earl Miller of Washington D.C. and on grandson Michael Miller now stationed in Vietnam.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7 1968 at thhe Easterday-Bonnie Funeral Home at Culver. Rev. A E. Givens pastor of the Culver E.U.B. Church officated.
