1915 - Sep 16 - Mrs. S. E. Allen and sons returned to their home in Akron, Ohio Sunday, after spending the summer at the cottage of her father, Mr. Bardsley. Mr Bardsley, who is over 80 years of age, is a faithful member of the summer colony, having occupied his cottage on Little Maxinkuckee every summer for many years.       Samuel E. Allen, the well known druggist of this city, will be wedded, Wednesday morning, to Miss Harriert Bardsley, formerly a teacher in the Akron public schools, daughter of James Bardsley, formerly a boiler manufacture here and sister of Mrs Jamd D. Chandler.

      The ceremmony will take place, in a the presence of only a few quests, at the summer cottage of A. P. Jenks, on Lake Maxinkuckee, Culver, Marshall ounty, Ind., where Miss Bardsley has been for several months.

      Mr. and Mrs. Allen will take a bridal trip to Niagara falls and other eastern points and will afterwards make Akron their home.
    Summer Cottager to Be Buried Here Friday
      Mrs Harriet Allen, widow of Samuel ALlen, died at the home of her son, William at Akron, Ohio on Tuesday.

      After services at Akron, the body will be brought to Culver for burial, arriving here on the 10:56 train from the North on Friday, and will be taken direct to the cemetery where Rev. Ralph Jones will conduct the grave serivce.



    The Allens owned property on Lost Lake and Maxinkuckee near Walter Busart's and were summer residents her for a numer of years - Citizen Feb 24, 1943

    Samuel Allen Dies at Akron Residence
      Retired Druggist In Buisness At Mill and Howard Sts. FOr 30 Years

      Samuel e. Allen, 80, retired Akron druggist, died at his home, 251 E. Mill st., Friday morning of infirmatives of old ag e.

      For 30 years he donoducted a drug store at the corner of Mill and HOward sts.

      He was a 32nd. degree Mason, a member of the Knights Templar and Scottish rite, and active in the ELks lodge.

      Funeral services will be held at the late residence Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the Elks lodge in charge.

      The body will be taken to Culver, Ind. for burial.

      Three sons, besides his widow survives: David B. Allen,, Sam HArper Allen, and J. Bill Allen. - Akron Beacon Journal Sep 14, 1928.

      Funeral services were to be held Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clocl for samuel E. Allen, 80, retired druggist, who died at Friday morning at this home, 251 E. Mill St. Services were held at thehome with the Elk's lodge in chrage. His body will be taken to Culver, Ind., for burial.

      Mrs. Allen was a prominent druggiest in the ciry for 30 years when he conducted a drug store at the corner of Mill ad Howard Sts. - Akron Beacon Journal Sep. 15 1928
