    Funeral Rites Held for CHarles Monninger

    Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 3, in the Lutheran church at Cuncinnati, Ohio, for Charles Monniger, age 89 well known Lake Maxinkuckee cottager

    He died the previous Saturday evening a the home of his son Carl. G. T. at Logansport, following a lingering illness of several years duration

    Burial was in the Spring Grove Cemetery in CInicinnati.

    Mr. Monnimger was born Feb. 7 1856, at Terre Haute and was a pioneer in the ice and regfrigeration businees, establishing plants at Terr Haute, Greencastle. Brazil, Wabash, Peoria, Ill. and Logansport.

    He later acquired the W. C. Routh Packing Co. properties.

    He was united in marriage to Luella M. Bachmann in 1894. To this union three children were born a daughter passin away in infancy

    Mr. Monnimger resided in Terre Haute and later in Indianapolis, moving to Culver to his home on Long Point 25 years agoooo when he retired from active business

    He served in the Indiana State Militia.

    He was a member of the Lutheran church and several civic, fraternal and business organizations.

    Surviving him are the widow Luellla; the son Carl of Logansport' a daughter Mrs Eleanore Scheufler of Baltimore, Ma., and formerly of Culver, and several nieces and nephewas - - Citizen April 11 1945

1922 - Jun 28 - Sunday's Star publishes a pucture of Miss ELeanor Louise Monninger with the following annoumcemnt: Mr. and Mrs. charles Monninfer of Culver, Indi. formerly of Indianapolis announces the engagement of otheir daughter Eleanor Louise to Lieut. H. R. Scheufler. Miss Mpnninger was formerly a Tudor Hall student and has atteneded a number of schools in Europe. Liuet Scheufler is a graduate of Ohio State university and a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Pi Mi EPsilon and Phi Delta Kappa faternities and is at the present time an instructor in matematics in the Culver Military Academy

1922 - Sep 6 - Charles Monninger has bought Mrs. Capron's lot on Helen street, Vandalia Park Addition and will build a six-room bungalow that will be a still further attraction to that already pretty street. The contract will be let tommorrow and work will begin at once.

1922 Sep 13 Archie Blanchard has the contact for the Monninger bungalow in the Vandalia Park addition.

1922 - Dec 27 - At high noon on Christmas Miss Eleanor Louise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Monninger of Culver was united in marriage with Lieut Harold Richard Schuefler an instructor in mathematics at the academy at St Marks Lutheran church in Logansport. The newly-weds are in Chicago this week at the Edgewater hotel. They will soon take possession of their new bugalow in Vandalia Park.

1924 - Sep 3 - A clipping from a Miami Flordia mewspaper revels the fact that a former Long Point cottager Carl G T. Monninger is doing a nice business in the southern city. Mr. Monniger sold in five different sales, 865 street frontage feet which made a total of $39,000 for the five sales. Mr. Monninger is well known in the community here an espcially among the biographies

1924 - Oct 8 - Charles Monninger and family will close their cottage this week end and leave for Miami FLorodia where the will spend the winter
