New Brewing Company.
The American Brewing Company filed its articles of incorporation in the office of the secretary of
state yesterday, with a capital stock of $129.000.
The incorporators and directors for the first year are Joseph C. Schaf. Herman Habich and Anthony Krauss.
The new company will not use the Landers porkhouse site, but has purchased the cold-storage plant of the
Crystal Ice Company at Ohio and the canal.
As a coldstorage plant is a large part of a brewing plant it will not require a great deal of building
before the new brewery will be in operation, and they expect to be making beer within months. A couple
of new buildings will erected at once. -- Indianapolis Journal Dec 29, 1896
