Martha Jane Bone  

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Martha Jane Bone, 71, Cape Coral, Fla., passed away peacef ully Saturday, June 3, 2006, at home surrounded by family.

Born in Philippi, W.Va., in August 1934, she was a daughter of Martha Creech Good and Dr. Richard P. Good.

In 1938, she moved to Kokomo. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1952 and later from Indiana University Bloomington with a degree in business administration. A business owner from 1973 to 1980, Jane was co-owner of Rollins Nursing Home, Cicero.

While living in Kokomo, Jane was an active participant in her community and at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, where she served on the Vestry and was president of the Episcopal Church Women?s organization. Jane also served on the board of directors at The Salvation Army in Kokomo. She was elected to Northwestern School Corp. board of trustees. She also served as president of the Beta Lamda Chapter of Tri Kappa and was an active participant in many alumni events.

In addition to her many activities within the community, Jane served as office campaign manager for Congressman Elwood H. Hillis for several elections. Part of Jane?s life was devoted to P.E.O. Sisterhood, and over the years, she served in every office of that organization, including president of Chapter R, Kokomo P.E.O., and was later elected president of the Indiana Chapter of P.E.O.

In 1983, Jane was married to Charles Howard Bone, Kokomo. He preceded her in death in August 2005. In 1984, Jane moved to Cape Coral, Fla., with Charlie and continued her involvement with P.E.O., serving as president of Chapter GD of Cape Coral. In Florida, she served as an active member of the Lee County Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association and enjoyed playing bridge with her many sorority sisters. Over the years, Jane and Charlie owned a number of boats and loved life on the water. Those who knew Jane will remember her devotion to her faith, her church, her family and friends, and her devotion to philanthropy. A gourmet cook, Jane loved to enter many cooking contests, winning several. She had dozens of her family recipes published in various cookbooks and magazines. She was featured in USA Today for her c ulinary feats. As a mother, Jane managed to have a real spirit of adventure raising kids, also allowing a number of pets in the home, including monkeys, snakes and other assorted ?critters.? Part of that spirit of adventure also included taking her kids and a niece on an extended camping trip throughout Europe and taking her family on a variety of vacations across the country and spending many summers at Lake Maxinkuckee.

Jane is survived by her brother, the Honorable Judge (retired) Richard P. Good, Indianapolis; sons John C. Fenn Jr., Mounds, Okla., Greg Bone, Hudson, Ohio, Steve Fenn, Montesano, Wash., and Mark R. Fenn, San Francisco, Calif.; daughters Sheri Fedorchak, Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Susan Rimar, Cape Coral, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She will be interred at a private service with family. Funeral arrangements are being handled by F uller-Cape Coral Funeral Home-Cremation Service, Cape Coral, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any donations be sent to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL, or Epiphany Episcopal Church of Cape Coral, Fla.
