1899 May 26 - Elza Cromley has rented the Bradley meat market and will open the same the first of June.
This will make three markets in Culver . Surely, meat ought to be plenty.
1899 Jun 2 Elza Cromley has opened a butcher shop in the Bradley building west of the depot, and has
stocked the same, with a choice line of fresh and salt meats. Call aud see him;

has opened the harness store and is now Yearly to supply the trade with all kinds of harness goods at
reasonable prices. He has also secured the services of a first class harpers maker, and is prepared to do
repairing with neatness and dispatch. Bear this in mind and call at the old stand near Porter & Co store
for your repair work. Also secure his prices before buying elsewhere, as he Can, and will save you money
June 23 - The Thomas Medbourn boarding house is fast becoming very pop ular

June 23 - Meredith grocery and Queensware store - H. J. Meredith -
1896-1899 Disposed of His Business. We are sorrv to chronicle that, H. J Meredith, who has successfully conducted a
grocery and queensware store in Culver for the past three years, has sold out and will retire from the business We do
not know what he intends to to do, but whereverhis lot may be cast, the Herald wishes him success. His successor will
be J. H. Castleman aud Fred Hollister. Both are capable men and will not neglect to keep the reputation of the store
up to its present state of excellence, so far as pure goods and first class services are concerned. Everybody knows
James Castleman and will vouch for his integrity. Mr. Hollister is a young man of sterliug worth, and is thorushly
conversant with the details of commercial life We understand that the new firm will take possession next week. 23 Jun

Jun 30 - Meredith grocery and Queensware store -J. H. Castleman amd Fred Hollister - 1899 - ? Wednesday the new proprietors took
charge of the Meredith grocery and Queensware store, which the latter gentleman so successf ully conducted for the past
three years. Castleman & Hollister, the new regime, are men of thorough ability, aud promise the purchasing public the same
courteous treatment which has been accorded them by their worthy predecessor.The stock will be kept up to its present
excellent condition, and as time will permit, improvements will be made. The new firm invites you oue aud all to call and see
