Orr Hudson opened a saloon at Depot place on Tuesday morning following the granting of a license by
the town board on Monday, night.
The local license is $300, the county license $200, and the government license $25.
The hours for keeping open are from 5 a. m. to 10 p.m.
Garland Bogardus' application is pending in the circuit court in the shape of an application for a
mandamus to compel the commissioners to issue him a license. The matter will come before the court
at the May term.
Only two licenses can be granted in Union township.
The greatest aggregate vote cast at the fall election of 1910 was 587, and figuring the population on
a basis of five times the vote (as the law prescribes) the population of the township is 2,935.
One license can be granted for each 1,000 of population. - Citizen
