CASHIER NOW GROCER - Forest Geiselman, for 13 years cashier of the American National Bank at Kewanna, on Thursday resigned his position and immediately went to Culver where he purchased a meat market and grocery store. Mr. Geiselman before entering the bank conducted a grocery store in Kewanna, and is well qualified to manage his Culver purchase. His successor at the bank has not yet been chosen. 1927 - Feb 16 - The well known firm of Zechiel and Company, composed of Earl and Jerome Zechiel, has dissolved partnership after 16 years of operation in the stock business 1927 - M A R C H 9 - Culver Auto Laundry is t he name of the latest business venture in Culver and is under the direction of Bert Rector and able assistants.

1927 - MARCH 16 — Mr. and Mrs. Neil A. Lichtenberger purchased the Mack Restaurant and it will be known as the Lakeview Restaurant.

1926 - Apr 14 - The Jones Restaurant opposite the depot changed ownership last Monday and is now owned by Charles H. Bolin

1927 - September 21 Culver Dry Goods moves entire stock out of town.

Culver STORE CLOSED - The Culver Dry Goods Store, one of the leading mercantile establishments of that city for many years, will on next Saturday night close its doors, the proprietor M. E. Leavitt has announced. All goods remaining on the shelves will be moved to Bridgeport, Illinois. The News-Sentinel, Thursday, September 22, 1927

1928 July 11 - A beautif ul new 21-passenger observation parlor car has been added to the equipment of the Culver Taxi Company by Clifford Loser.

1928 July 11 - A plumbing and heating shop has been opened by Lawrence C. Wagenknecht, a former resident of this community.

1928 - September 19 W. F. Morris has opened the lunchroom in the building next to Johnson's Tire Shop.

1928 - November 14, Frank and Ray Henderson announce the opening of the S. E. Keen Realty Company.

1929 - Jan 2 - Ray Fisher and Cecil Smith have bought the cleaning and pressing business of E Bergman.

1929 - Jan 2 Arthur Simpson has bought the Mikesell restaurant.

1929 - February 27 - G. T. McC ullough has purchased the local tailor shop of M. Stuprich

1929 - MAr 20 - Mrs. N. A. Lichtenbeiger, who has been in South Bend during the winter, has returned and is preparing to open the Lake View Restaurant soon,

    April 24, 1929 Ed Houghton, owner of the Union lunch room at Plymouth, has purchased the Lake View restaurant and is busy preparing the room for opening for business.


1929 -October 16, J . W. Riggens returned to Culver last week from South Bend and brought the barber shop in the Hays Building near the depot, formerly owned by L. E Harris.

1929 - November 27, - A much needed business in Culver is ready for trade in its building across from the depot. The new flower shop is operated by Albert and Gordon Byer.
