1938 - Another senior on Coaoch Underwood's Indians is Charles
Dckerson Jr. He ranks as one fo the best ball handlers on the
club, and his speed adds much to the team's offensive when
Junior is in the game. He also is an above average shot, but
his size keeps him from becoming a permanent fixture in
the line up. He has been a member of the Hi-Y for four years
and the boys glee club for a like period. He won letters in
basebal land track. He was tresurer of his freshman class and

1949 - Jan 26 - Brown Bombers Play Here Saturday Night
The top basketball attraction of the season will be staged in the Culver Community
Building Saturday night, Jan. 29, when the famous Brown Bombers of Chicago will
tangle with the Culver American
Legion quintet.
The Bombers are rated as one of the best traveling teams in the country and give a
good show besides playing clever ball.
Of special interest to local fans will be the appearance of
CHARLES DICKERSON Jr.
Dickerson in the Bombers' lineup. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dickerson and
former Culver High school player.
He has appeared here previously with the Evanston Collegians, but this season has been
advanced to the Brown Bomber squad.
He stands six feet, three and one-half inches, received honorable mention for his play in
the National Y.M.C.A. tournament in Brooklyn last year, and is noted for his fine rebound
work and speed |

All members of the Brown Bombers squad are either former college stars or have been outstanding
in pro circles. The shortest man stands six feet, one inch. The curtain-raiser will start at
7:30 p. m. Tickets are now on sale by Legionnaires.
Chicago Brown Bombers
The Chicago Brown Bombers were a semi-pro and Negro league baseball team in the 1940s.
They played in the Negro Major League and later the United States League.
The Brown Bombers played in Minnesota in July, 1942 against the Twin Cities Gophers in Negro
Major Baseball League of America games. In 1945 the Brown Bombers were members of The United
States League for one season before the league folded.
