Reorganization of Area Schools Again Discussed
A second public school reorganization meeting was held Aug. 15, under the joint sponsorship of
various Culver organizations, Chairman James Miracle presided.
Mr. Miracle made a few introductory remarks about the reason for the meeting - to inform the
public of the steps that have been taken in regard to school reorganization and consolidation in
Union township.
Before turning the meeting over to Frank McLane of the County Reorganization Committee.
Kenneth Cole, the new principal, was introduced.

Mr. McLane outlined the reasons for the reorganization law, and the possibilities and many difficulties
which are encountered by the county committee.
Next trustee Eugene G. Benedict gave a brief report on the meetings of the local reorganization
advisory committee.
Don Davis Reports
Don Davis followed with a report about our school and town – what it has to offer and why we should
support it to the utmost in order to continue the progress and further improvement in Culver and its
schools.
Mrs. Peter DeTory said in conclusion that it is necessary for all towns people to be aware of the
importance of school reorganization and that an informed public will be the best support of a sound
and workable consolidation.
Other possible Consolidations
The local committee has so far only seriously considered the Aubeenaubee, North Bend and Union
consolidation.
Suggestions were made to look into the four township plan of Richland, Aubeenaubbee, Argos and
Union.
Next Meeting Aug. 26
A motoion was made to have another meeting Aug. 26. By that time more citizens and the local
committee will have been able to look into other consolidation plans.
It is urged that all interested person attend this third public organization meeting.
