On June 10, 1943 Raymond "Doc" Ives, Jr. and Martha Jane Calhoun were married in Culver.
Doc was born Febraury 3, 1914 to Dr. Raymond J. Ives and Kathyrn Fitzpatrick in Francesville,
and lived there until he attended and graduated from Manchester College. Later he recieved his
master's degree in education from Ball State University.
He came to Culver in the fall of 1942 as a science teacher at Culver Hihgh School and later
became principal. He was with the Culver schools for 18 years, and with the Plymouth schools as
junior high shcool teacher and assistant principal for 18 years, retiring in 1978. He had
taught music in Mexico for five years before coming to Culver.
Doc died December 2, 1983.
Doc and Martha were members of the Methodist church and lived in Culver all their maried life.
They were blessed with two daughters, Jane Anne , and Mary Beth,. Jane Anne married Roger Wayner Leland of Argos. They have one daughter Amanda
Jane, Mary Beth married Ronald F.
Zink of Culver. They have two sons, Adam Ryan, and Erik Alan,
they reside in Rocester.
