1909 - Oct 14 - Ith the announcement of the "Greater Culver" plans made last commencement landscape gardening was included as one of the desirable features. Work in this department has been carried on extensively during th past six weeks since the erection of the mess hall was tarted, Low places have been filled and resodded, the front of the barracks has been bordered with a touch of greenward; trees hace been thinned out where they stoof to thick; and the b ranches of those remaining have been trimmed so that the sinlight is now ale to reach the grass beneath. In addition three new fountains have been installed at the artesian wells equipped with improved sanitary driking cups. The work about the grounds has been under the direction of Mr. G. A. DOswell, the chief landscape gardner of the Winona Lake assembly grounds
