William A. Strow, Jr. grew up in Putnam County, Ohio. He received a B.S. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He received his M.A. from Syracuse University. He was a CMA science instructor from 1942 until he retired in 1977 as Master Instructor. He was named Instructor Emeritus in 1987.

He was also Counselor of Troop B and of Naval Company 1.

In the fall of 2001, he and his wife moved to a retirement community to Nashville, Indiana
    William Abraham Strow Jr. died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Brown County Health and Living. He was 93.

    Mr. Strow was born on May 13, 1912, in Columbus Grove, Ohio. His parents were William A. Strow Sr. and Blanche (Slemmons) Strow. Both preceded him in death.

    He married Isabel Catharine "Scotty" MacKay on November 23, 1939, in London, Ontario, Canada.

    He moved to Nashville in 2001 after spending most of his life living in Culver, where he taught science at the Culver Academies for 35 years before retiring in 1977.

    Mr. Strow enjoyed playing bridge, fishing, gardening, crossword puzzles and singing in a barbershop quartet.

    Survivors include two daughters, Mary R. Strow of Bloomington and Sheila Yale of Miami, Florida, three grandsons, three nieces and a nephew.

    A memorial service, will be 1 held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July '30, at the Memorial Chapel on the campus of Culver Academies.

    Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Jean and James MacKay adopted Isabela Williamson in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1915. Isabel's biological mother was Sarah Calder Williamson who gave birth to her in Eastern District Hospital on Duke St.

. 21 August 1915 Jean and James boarded the SS Cassandra (ship in the Donaldson Line) with Isabella(age 1 and a half) to cross the Atlantic ocean. 84 passengers were aboard.

    NASHVILLE — Isabel Catherine "Scotty" Strow, 89, of Nashville, a lifelong resident of Culver, died Wednesday at Brown County Health & Living Center in Nashville.

    Born Dec. 24, 1914, in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the daughter of the Rev. James and Jean (Tulloch) MacKay.

    A registered nurse, she started her nursing career in Niagara Falls, N.Y. She worked at the Culver Military Academy Health Clinic. She was also a homemaker.

    She was a member of the Wednesday Club in Culver and was an avid bridge player.

    Survivors include her husband, William Strow; two daughters, Mary R. Strow of Bloomington and Sheila Yale of Miami, Fla.; and three grandsons, Aaron D. Bopp of Bloomington, Brian Yale of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Andrew Yale of Miami, Fla.

    Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the east dining hall at the Brown County Health & Living Center with Jonathan Hutchison officiating.

    Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until services at the center.

    Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Brown County Health and Living Center staff fund.
