Stimson of Huntingburg, Indiana who bought the two Griffiths cottages just south of Maxinkuckee Landing, is preparing to join them into one large 12 room house which will be one of the largest, if not the largest, private residences on the lake. The proposed improvement will cost, it is said not less than %4,000

      Was located on the near the end of East Shore Lane not far from the Bay View the Gumpf's owned three cottages . One was used as their personal residence; the other as the kitchen and dinning room and the other cottage was divided up into 8 to 10 rooms.

      1913 - May 15 Miss Susannah Wallace of Indianapolis last Saturday was the second person in the State to take out a fishing license under the new law. This will be her 17th summer at Lake Maxinkuckee and she is an avid fisherman. License No. 1 was obtained by W.W. Fulton, another well-known Lake Maxinkuckee summer cottager,and nephew of Miss Wallace.

It has been assumed that the camping area was in the southwest corner or in the general area a large campground began just south of the Walker boathouse and ran a long the south shore of the lake for quite a ways - in the area known as "Farrar's Wood's"

    AUGUST 20, 1952 — Word has been received of the death in Indianapolis of Mrs. Alice Habich, 96, wife of the late Herman Habich. Mr. and Mrs. Habich were former residents of Culver having lived on Long Point for 30 years and were summer residents many years before coming to Culver to make their home

    22 May 1896 - C. K. Plank, one of Rochester's thriving business men, is overseeing the construction of a line cottage at Long Point

    14 Aug 1896 - C. K. Plank is having a new grate and chimney built on his cottage on Long Point. Mr. Plank has one of the finest cottages on the Point.

    30 Oct 1896 - Chas. Plank, of Rochester, was in town Thursday setting out trees around his cottage upou Long Point.
