1919 East Side Cottage Numbering System

10 Sep 1919

All East Side Lake Lots To Be Known By Numbers

At a recent meeting of the cottage owners on the east side of the lake the name of "East Side Road" was adopted for the road skirting the lake from the academy grounds to the south end of the lake, and the county commissioners have given their approval of the plan.

All buildings and lots on that road have been listed and numbers assigned to each one, including the vacant lots.

Following the usual city method, begining at the north end of the road, even numbers are assigned to the west side, and odd numbers to the east side.

Arrangements have been made with Mr. Goss to furnish numbers of uniform size at a small price, and all cottagers are requested to put up numbers on the front and rear ends of their property.

Next years telephone directory will designate its subscribers by these numbers.
