Indiana Press, Inc. Will Construct New Plant In Plymouth

Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation has sold the first parcel of industrial space in its 167-acre Plymouth Industrial Park, 3.3 acres purchased by Indiana Press, Inc. which will break ground soon for a new building.

The Indiana Press building will house the executive offices and printing facilities of the new company, recently formed by the merger of The Culver Press, Culver , and Town and Country Printers, Plymouth, according to PIDCO president, Charles O. Glaub. The new facility will contain 11,250 square feet.

Officers of the company are John A. Cleveland, Culver , president, David B. Cleveland, Indianapolis, vice president, and Archie MoLiver, Plymouth, secretary and general manager. Executive offices of Indiana Business & Industry magazine, a statewide monthly publication for management, will also be located in the building. L. W. Bellamy, formerly with the Plymouth Pilot-News and recently with Pure Oil Company's home office in Chicago edits the magazine. Indiana Press, Inc., prints IB & I.

The new building will be located north of Plymouth on the east side of Oak Road, just east of New World Products which is one of six industries PIDCO has attracted to Plymouth in the past nine years. PIDCO, capitalized with a $110,000 stock sal e in 1958, purchased the 167 acres for an industrial park a year ago after raising an addition $120,000.

Procurement of the total $230,- 000 has been entirely an in-community program, with all stockholders, numbering more than 300, living in the Plymouth area. PIDCO was initiated in 1958 by a cross-section of citizens from all types of businesses and professions. The Plymouth Industrial Park: is in the process if being annexed by the City of Plymouth, and the area is under extensive development for future industry. Members of PIDCO believe they will be able to add eight to ten new industries there within the next ten years.

PIDCO has been responsible for six new industries in Plymouth, with total employment of more than 400 persons. They include Indiana Press, Inc., Panel Craft, Inc., Young Door Company, Bomarko, Inc., New World Products, Inc. and Mid-America Containers, Inc.
