George Stabenow  

Our guest today is George Stabenow, superintendent of the water department, who was inspecting the base of the water towen when the picture was taken.

George Stabenow was born in Chicago, but doesn't remember much about those days in the big city as he moved here when anout four or five years old.

All of hois grade and high school ecudation was secured in Culver schools, He was a three-letter in basketball.

George Stabenow was graduated from the engineering school of Purdue university, and worked for several years with Western Electric in Chicago.

It will be five years ago in Novemeber when he took over his present duties. DUring that time the water companyhas become a solvent business, and a number of improvements hace been made in the equipment so as to give the customers the best serivce possible.

By instituting a system to check all purchases Mr. Stabenow has saved the town each year more than his salary.
