CULVER FIRE WRECKS HOUSE $7,500 Loss Seen For Heims' Home On Manitou
The Tribune's Special Service CULVER - The summer home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Heims, 1000 E. Rd., Rt. 2, Culver
was destroyed by fire early today.
The Heims had moved to Bass Lake, Knox, about a month ago.
Culver firemen said the cause of the fire is undetermined.
The unoccupied house was engulfed in flames when they arrived at the scene at 6:45 a.m. There was no possibility
of saving any of the contents, they added.
House Unoccupied
Mrs. Heims, informed of the fire this morning, said no one had been in the house since last week when she went into
Culver to check on the house, and take some belongings to the Knox home they are now renting.
The five-room frame home was insured for $5,000.
Fire Chief David Burns said the loss may reach $7,500, including the contents.
Ray Heims, 26, is employed at Bethlehem Steel Corp., Portage, and Mrs. Heims, 22, is with the United Bell Telephone Co.,
Knox. They hve two children, Pamela, 3, and Lawrence, 1.
The Heims, who have spent their summers in Culver, had planned on building a permanent home on the lot, she said.
