1925 - May 6 - Mr. and Mrs. Eward Boberg of South Bend arrived Monday to take up their residence here for the summer months. Mr. Boberg is in charge of one of the big boats on the lake each summer. - Citizen

1933 - May 10 - APPOINTED CARETAKER Eddie Boberg has been appointed caretaker of Vandalia Park by the town board. His duties start at once and will continue until September 30. The position was let on bids submitted at a special meeting of the board Monday night. - Citizen

1936 - Sep 30 - OPENS NEW BUSINESS - A recreation room has been opened by Eddie Boberg in the building near the Culver Sheet Metal Works on South Main street. The room had been redecorated before the opening on Saturday. - Citizen

Edward J. Boberg

    NILES - Edward J. Boberg, 237 Green Gables St., died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday in Pawating Hospital, after an illness of several months.

    A retired employe of Uniroyal Inc.

    Mr.Boberg was born Jan. 2, 1898, in Chicago, and had lived here since 1946, coming from South Bend.

    On Sept. 11, 1924, in St. Joseph, he married the former Helen Peak, who survives.

    Mr. Boberg was a former boat captain on Maxinkuckee Lake, Culver, Ind.

    Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Jane Krisher of New Buffalo; a foster brother, Ed of South Bend and three grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

    Tuesday in the Halbritter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold E. Asire of the Emanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville.

    Friends may call at the funeral home.
