1942 World War II draft registration lists him as 57 birth 23 Aug 1885 birth place Delong,Ind. and no occupation listed and residing at 1334 E. Indiana Ave. South Bend.

1950 census has him listed as a patient at Logansport State Hospital (Longcliff) a State Mental Hospital Or Institution in rural Logansport, Tipton Twp., Cass County, Indiana.

Nov 11, 1953 - Charles Bush received word of the death of his brother who passed away Thursday at South Bend. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon - Citizen

    Levi Bush.
    Levi Bush, 1334 E. Indiana Ave., died at 3:30 a. m. today in his home after several years' illness.

    He was born in Delaney, Ind., Aug. 23, 1885, and came here 39 years ago from Culver, Ind.

    He was married in 1909 in Culver to Rethal Clemons, who survives.

    He also leaves five sons, Herman, Jack and William of South Bend, Robert of Mishawaka and Richard of Niles, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Hukkell, South Bend, and Mrs. Margaret Baker, of Yakima Wash.; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Charles, of Culver, Ind., and Newton, of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. Flossie Buck, of Mishawaka.

    Mrs. Rethal Bush
    Mrs. Rethal Clemans Bush, 71, of 1334 E. Indiana Ave., died today in the home of a son, Jack Bush, 1912 S. Jackson St., with whom she was staying during her illness. She became ill two months ago.

    She was born in Akron, Ind., on Dec. 28, 1893, and had lived in South Bend for 50 years.

    On Sept. 12, 1909, she was married to Levi Bush, who died in 1953.

    She was a retired Studebaker Corp. employee. Surviving are four other sons, Herman and William, both of South Bend, Robert of Mishawaka and Richard of Niles; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Baker of Yakima, Wash., and Mrs. Opal Harrell of Warsaw Ind.; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, LeRoy Clemans, and a sister, Mrs. Mary King, both of Niles.

    Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the (Hollis Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Kenneth Foulke, pastor of All Saints Evangelical United Brethren Church, will ofliciate, and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

    She was a charter member of Mothers of World War II and a member of the Pythian Sisters and Sanka's Lodge - South Bend Tribune 27 Sep 1965
