    CULVER C. B. McKinney, 87. of 219 S Main St., died Thursday night in Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, after an illness of several years

    He was born July 12, In Scottsburg

    On Nov 26, 1921, he married Hattie M Lichtenberger, who survives along with a daughter Mrs. Betty Singleton, and a son James A McKinney, both of Culver, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Marshall of San Francisco, Calif and Mrs Ethel Creig of California.

    A son, William, a daughter, Rosemary, six brothers and two sisters preceded tum in death.

    Services will be al 12 pm Sunday in Bonine Funeral Home James Wheeler of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, will officiate.

    Burial will be in McElrath Cemetery.

    Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Culver Union Twp Emergency Medical Service.

    He retired from Culver Military Academy in 1961 after 38 years of service.

    He was a Marine veteran of World War I

    He was a member of the church, the Henry J. Culver Lodge 617 F&AM, Maxinkuckee 100F Lodge, W A Fleet American Legion Post 103 and VFW Post 6919, and be was a longtime member of Culver Mire Department. - South Bend Tribune Feb 24, 1984

      CULVER - Services for Hattie M. McKinney, 90, of 219 S. Main St., who died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday in Miller's Merry Manor, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bonine Funeral Home.

      Burial will be in McElrath Cemetery.

      Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

      Memorial contributions may be made to the Culver-Union Twp. Emergency Medical Service.

      Mrs. McKinney was born May 1, 1895, in Hibbard and was a lifelong area resident.

      On Nov. 26, 1921, in Hibbard, she married Carmel McKinney. He died in 1984.

      Surviving are a daughter, Betty Singleton of Culver; a son, James A. of Culver; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

      A daughter, a son, a sister and four brothers preceded her in death.

      She was a member' of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Burr Oak Rebecca Lodge and W. A.Fleet American Legion Post Auxiliary.
