    James Garfield, born August 12, 1868 Lonejack, Missouri died May 18, 1959 Okanagan Co, Washington.

    Herbert Evert, born May 21,1872 Kansas died Apr 4, 1936 Norwalk, Los Angeles, California.


Benjamin abandoned Elizabeth and after she died he remarried

married June 3, 1887 Yakima Co, Washington Mrs. Kate Morton Benjnamin abandon her in April 1891. Kate was granted a divorce in Yakima Co. Washington May 1893. They had no children.

married October 13, 1893 in Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri Ida Mae Rombaugh BIRTH 8 Apr 1876 La Plata, Macon County, Missouri DEATH 18 Dec 192 Calhoun County, Mississippi BURIAL Bentley-Russell Cemetery Calhoun County, Mississippi, daughter of Mathias M "J. Rumbo" Rombaugh & Mary Jane Moncrief She abandoned the family in 1902.

    Bonnie Marie Grover born Nov 29, 1897 Ashton, Clark County, Missouri died Mar 1, 1972, Rutledge, Scotland, Missouri John Raymond Wilson Nov. 13, 1943 Gorin, Scotland, Missouri.

    Joe Pearl Grover born June 1, 1900, Fairmont, Clark, Missouri, died Mar 23, 1979 Memphis, Scotland, Missouri married Eva Ellen Levere, Sept 2, 1924, Edina, Knox Co., Missouri.


After Benjamin's death the four children (Hattie, Dayton, Bonnie and Joe Pearl) were "farmed out" to four different families. Hattie lived with the Daniel and Melissa Jolliff family at Sand Hill; "Date" lived with the Alvis and Susana Elder family in Benton twp; Bonnie lived with Mrs. Eliza Gilmer at Sand Hill; and Joe P. lived with the Benjamin and Barbara Norton family at Knox City
