Surprise Party Given For Mrs. L. A. Anthoni at her Home Sunday

Religous Service held in Afternoon

In honor of Mrs. L. A. Anthoni's birthday thirty-one guests assembel at the Anthoni home, ] corner of Cass and Stitt street, Sunday and made merry during the entire day although the affair was rather quite as almost the entire number of guests were mutes.

Naturally optimistic and care-free the jolly party spent a delightfull day enjoying themselves to the fullest extent, visiting, singing songs and amusing themselves with their sigh language. On of the features of the day which seems quite remarkable to those who are unacqiuainted with the means of expression used by those who neither talk or hear was brief devotional service held after dinner, when a number of those present joined in singing "Nearer My God to Thee" in sign language

At one o'clock a bountiful dinner was served after which the remainder of the day was devoted to nemerous diversions.

The hostess received a number of very beautiful presents.
