Major Shull of the Dresser cottage found a dead octopus on the shore near the Indianapolis Pier the other day.

It had 16 feelers ranging in lengh from one-hald inch to 8 inches. tje latter having bored clear through a mussel shell. Its body was about an inch square, and it head one-thrid of an inch square

The octopus or devil fish is not a habitat of inland waters, and how this baby sepciemen found its way into Lake Maxinkuckee is a mystery whose solution we submit to President Noble, Capt. Morris, George Yandes or "Chad"
