Pettition Filed to Set Hawk Lake Water Level

Culver's citizen's particularly residents of the Hawk Lake area, willbe interested to learn that a petition to establishe the wter level of that body of water has been filed in Marshall cirucit Curt in behalf of the Indiana Conservation Department by the Indiana Attorney General's Office

In the petition, the Depratment asseted that the average normal level of the lake should be established at 12 feet.

It was further pointed out that the highest water level has risen in the past 10 years was 12.85 feet and the lowest level recorded in recent years has been 10.26 feet.

The conservation Department wants the level established prepartory to the construction a c control structure between the lake and the county road to the south.

The petition, filed by Paul F Brady, Deputy Attorney Genral, asks that a hearing be held and that the petition be approved and the court establish the water level.
